Curriculum for Excellence...
One of the aims central to our blog is that it will help our children to increase their ability to be successful learners - confident individuals - responsible citizens - and effective contributors. These are the four aims of A Curriculum for Excellence. A Curriculum for Excellence is central to the Scottish Government's 'Ambitious, Excellent Schools' reform agenda.

An eTwinning project...
Yester Primary is a rural primary school in Scotland. The current school role is around 165, with one class per stage from P1 to P7.
Kuvansin koulu, in Finland, is also rural, with currently around 109 pupils, in six classes, aged 6 to 12.
Eggeslevmagle Skole, is situated in the town of Skælskør, around 100kms west of Copenhagen, in Denmark. It is a bigger primary school, with around 670 pupils.
All three schools hope to use this blog to exchange information about each other and to find out a bit about each other’s cultures.

History...
International Education is something that Yester Primary school staff are very interested in developing. In the session 2007- 2008, Michael Purves registered with eTwinning.net, an international organisation that helps schools from different countries make links with each other.
Yester linked with a Finnish primary school, Kuvansin koulu in the village of Kuvansi, close to Varkaus, and we started a project called A Healthy Passport, with the help of Jyrki Ikonen, the teacher in Kuvansi.
Over the course of the year, the two classes exchanged lots of details about the cultures in each country, and the project won acclaim, eventually being awarded 2nd prize in the annual UK eTwinning Awards Ceremony in June 2008.
For 2008-2009, it was decided to invite a third school, and country into the project, so now, Eggeslevmagle Skole, situated in the town of Skælskør, around 100kms west of Copenhagen, in Denmark will join Yester and Kuvansi, as we embark on a new cultural project, A Crossroads of Cultures. Welcome to both the children and their teacher,Lene Sieling, from Eggeslevmagle Skole!

I have just had a tiny break. In my break I was at home. I was playing football and computer. I’m very good at playing football. My father thinks I have got a fibre burst so I need a break with the football.

Hello. I have just a little break on Friday (We call it General Prayer Day) plus the weekend. I was playing football and looking for salamanders in the garden. I found a little brown salamander with a very strong tail. I also found a flower. It was oval formed and had a little cup with a purple filament and had a bad smell of urine which attracted insects. I played FIFA and Pirates of the Caribbean at worlds end on my play station. Sunday was I with my sister to a competition in horse riding.
